Mardi Gras Mumbo

Just like grits and boiled crawfish, Mardi Gras is part of the southern tradition. So just like grits or boiled crawfish if you like it or not it is here all around. Here are a few pictures from a day trip to visit my sister in-law and her family. They took us to a local Mardi Gras parade.

Oreo Treats

How pretty is this ??? No one would ever guess that they did not come from a bakery.

Oreo Treats are just the sweetest little treats to serve at a party or to give as a gift to friends. These treats are so beautiful, but are so simple to make in no time.

1 pk cream cheese
1 pk Oreo cookies
Choice of chocolate or vanilla bark

Crush the cookies into fine crumbs. Cream the cream cheese in mixer then slowly add cookie crumbs. Chill dough for about 30 min. Then roll dough into balls, placing on wax paper. Chill again while melting chocolate. Dip cookie treats into the chocolate. You can then drizzle on more chocolate or sprinkle on more cookie crumbs for decoration.

Place in little bags tied with a pretty ribbon and tag or place them in a little dessert cup for parties...Let me know how you serve your Oreo Treats...

My son took some to school and shared them with his friends...they told him they would pay him to make them some.

Chicken Salad

What do you do with all that left over BBQ Chicken from Sunday afternoon?

Well I made chicken salad for supper. Super simple

mayo

celery

craisans Ocean Spray

chopped pecans

rolls

Mix the ingredients...I just add things until I get it the way my family likes...

Yes we have already called for towels...they were brought up right away.

Look at these messy beds. Comfy...oh yeah the best nights sleep in a long time.

What Makes A Great Sister

This is a repost, thought I would share it with Susie's friends...like her header states

What makes a Great sister....

1. Knowing she will loan you her clothes, even though I am too big to fit in them (maybe that is why she said I could borrow them).

2. Picks up your sick kids when you can't. Usually they puke on her...

3. She can handle it when you confess that six months ago she made you mad, lets you chew her out. And then she states that she is sorry, she did not know.

4. When you think your husband has burned his last bridge after 21 years. She reminds you that he is like a brother to her and tells you stories of why you loved him to begin with. She is great because she picked a Great husband as well...

5. Talks to you on your drive home from work (45 min.) I look forward to the drive CrAzY huh?

6. Will celebrate your 40th Birthday not in Vegas, Paris, Rio...but at a hunting camp, joking in a deer stand (neither of us could shoot anything did not have a gun). Birthday there so the entire family could be together. Worst yet, located 50 miles from nearest Wal-Mart craft dept. Hobby Lobby...No one has even heard of them there..

7. Allows your dog to come in her house, even though he poops on her livingroom floor EVERY time he goes to visit.

8. I could go on for ever....Most of all is that she makes ME feel like the Greatest Sister, when actually it is HER !!

SO IF YOU HAVE A SISTER GREAT AS MINE....LET HER KNOW WHY

Oh Yeah Road Trip

There is nothing as fun as going on a road trip.

My sister and I will be hitting the road this Thur. for a trip to Nashville returning to our little southern town Sun. night.

She is going to blog and I am going to rest and keep my fashion advice to myself. I can hear you,LOL SISTER

We have been on several road trips for many different circumstances.
I suggested we do a blog together on our little adventures. She brought it to my attention that our crazy jokes and mishaps are only funny if you are actually on the trip.
