We're Cookin Now...Well Maybe

Can you remember when the kitchen looked like this?... it really wasn't that bad now looking back over everything we have been through. My white gas stove was great. But in one of my few cleaning moods, I sprayed oven cleaner on the front by the knobs. Warning I don't know what is in that stuff, but it WILL chomp thru paint. Hey I just realized for all you crafters maybe you could use it as a paint remover for metal...(just a thought). The old vent hood was actually new. Camo Man said it had to go. I found it a home, next door with Grannie. Hers did not have lights and she needed a stronger one for all that chicken she fries.

This is Camo Man and Main Man (Susie's /http://susieharris.blogspot.com/ better half) installing the vent pipe for the hood. Mr. Appliance Man told us that if we have an industrial stove you have to have a vent that can handle the heat and vents out of the house.
Camo Man thought he could just cut a hole right thru the ceiling and roof. It did not take long for him to realize that our sons' bathroom is right above (heehee). So he headed thru the cabinet and out to the porch. I was not happy about that, but I try to pick the battles that I really want to win. (Newly weds remember this advice. Of course not now cause you are still honeymoonin, but trust me and thank me, one day you will pick your battles.) Now back to the kitchen.

All stainless, shiny and new. The stove is a five burner DCS. I LOVE the oven racks, they just roll right out.

I am not quite sure if I am ready to yuck it up yet. I am hoping Camo Man will finish the out summer cooking on the grill or better get take out....Oh yeah, now where did I put those menus??

OMGosh! girl... I would be all over that thing. :) Very nice!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! I really appreciate it. I'm from Louisiana so I know how hot it is there! Georgia is much cooler (only weather wise). Louisiana is the Coolest place on earth! Everybody from LA knows there is no better food on the planet....So, get cooking. :) Dina

Have you ever seen the ovens and cookware of "professional"cooks? They are gunked up with burned on food and grease. I like to scrub my pans inside & out after using them. I wipe off the excess food from the bottom of the oven if it sills. So I know how you want to keep that sucker clean. Go break that baby in with a spectacular meal. Or bake a pizza from the freezer. *grin* It's sitting there waiting for you!

Well my dear.. so far everything looks grand! Now I will agree with you on the picking. It takes some knowledge and a keen nose as to just which one is which.

Huggers my dear.. lovely indeed. Copper pots and pans are all you need now.

Yes...it all looks gorgeous! I am in love with that big ol' oven and backsplash. I vote for grillin' or takeout for the rest of the summer. I can't take it when my house gets all hot and bothered from the stove!

Oh, by the way...I am only 90 minutes from Canton. That's like basically right next door. Especially, if I was goin' to meet my bloggy buddies. How much fun would that be??? Let's plan it and put it on our calendars!

Ohhhh, that stove looks soooo nice! I mean, I love my still-new-to-me stove we got last year, but that big ol' sucker just looks like it could prepare meals all by itself, with no help from you! : )

Twin and I have been bad blogger friends. I just notice your previous post. THANK YOU. We have been working (without a lot to show for it) so hard trying to figure out a program for the biz. It's frustratiing but hopefully after working all day today and this weekend we will be understand it and be up and running!
Love your kitchen. It's too bad we have to cook in them and get them messy! You can really cook up a feast on that new stove. Are you a good cook? Even if you're not, you have a kitchen that makes it look like you are!HA
Have a geat weekend.
