Oh Can It Be
No...I can not believe. Waiting on the kitchen table
for me, straight from the mail person...THE CHRISTMAS
SOUTHERN LIVING BOOK..Please someone refresh my memory

before leaving for the Cottage/Camp...
Cottage/Camp Progress
Well another weekend draws to a close. It feels great to
sit and fill you all in out what we finished this weekend at
the Cottage~Camp. My daughter and I went shopping in the town with
a mall.(45min. away). We left her poor new boyfriend to help
HoneyDew redo the porch. Thank goodness he did not work him to much. I told Honeydew
we do not want to run him off, she will be twenty in Oct. and it is her first boyfriend.
Back to the porch, it turned out really cute, now I am looking
for a sweet little table and of course a rooster to put by the door.
I want to stain the wood, but Honeydew says I have to wait for the
wood to dry(Whats up with that). Really tired gotta get ready for the work
week. Have a great week ...MISSY
Let's go shoppin it's hot outside
Can you believe I took a weekend off from the cottage/camp. My sweet sister wanted to spend a few hours shopping with me. Well of course I took my camera along, so you could join in on the fun. We stopped a this great new shop Oakside Antiques & Gifts located at 40154 West New River, Gonzales, LA (Email: cyberoak@msn.com).
It is just loaded with beautiful antiques and so many gifts for all occasions.
Let's go on in ,you know it is 90 degrees here.
Take a peak with us as we walk around.Oh... this Tea Cart would look so good in my bedroom, I might have to just go ahead and pick it up. Oakside's prices are so reasonable for such wonderful quality antiques. I did pick up a precious bed tray.
The owner, Gwendolyn and her husband even support the local artists. These stylish plaques were crafted by my sister.
Teacups...Did you say teacups?? Yes she has a the largest collection I have ever seen. Gwendolyn even has some black teacups with roses on the inside. I know sounds kind morbid, but I loved them. (I was so busy talking didn't get a pic of those.)

You know what I say in the 'Big Picture' it is about the small stuff. After shopping we were walking to the car when we ask Gwendolyn about her beautiful roses. She told us how easy the tiny pink roses are to grow from a cutting and that they were indeed the Seven Sister rose.
So generously she cut pieces for me and my sister. How can you top a day like that.
Have a great week & BEE HAPPY, MISSY

Bargain Books & A Free Give Away
I hate to pay full price for a book. Now when I am out bargain hunting
(which I don't get to do very often) I head straight for the books. I really should stop because I have more books than I will ever get to read. I picked up these three at a garage sale last Friday. Look at the different subect ranges of my sweet little find...the small book is Emily Dickinsons' Poems. This is sad, but I don't even know how to do embroidery...some day I may learn and I will have the book. LOL
Leave me a comment and I will draw a name and drop the book 'Winds of Change' in the mail to the winner. I plan on reading it this weekend, so I will be able to part with it. Good Luck, and remember to BEE HAPPY, MISSY
