Oh Christmas Tree

Can you believe my tree is still up on Jan. 6th? But today is the day it is coming down, even if I have to stay up till midnight. Maybe after work tomorrow the tree in the kitchen will find its new home in a closet....Camo Man told me not to stress over it. He wanted me to go to Hobby Lobby and get Mardi Gras decor. and make it a Mardi Gras tree. That was sweet, but I am ready to get on with my new year. It is like spring cleaning when I take down the tree, even though a record cold front is well on its way here in the South. When you take down your tree do you start on a cleaning spree, or do you just throw it all back in a box and stuff it in the closet till next year?

Hah Hah....we have something in common...but, mine came down at 3pm my time. Did I beat ya? It looks so stark now - still much more to clean up around here but once everything is put away it will be like a clean slate. I can start decorating from scratch here in my happy abode!
Happy de-Christmasifying

Oh!
I'm on a cleaning spree for sure!
Tree is still up...
but coming down by the weekend indeed!
I am in the process of washing all of my white slipcovers and was in Central Market smelling and selecting new cleaning products just a bit ago!
Like to start fresh after the holidays!

I just took the tree out Sunday and ALL the Christmas is up in my guest room {which is where I access my attic} just waiting to be packed and stored til next season. I would take a pic and post it on my blog but I would be embarrassed. Trying to clean out but will probably just get frustrated and shove it all in a box and deal with it next season. Alas... hate for it to all go but my house looks bigger. I guess that is a good thing!

I came home from the grocery store Monday night to find that my sweet husband and Kiddo had taken everything down and put it into boxes...which I now have to go through and put in order. I may not be very organized in the rest of my house, but dang it my Christmas decorations are going to be organized where I can find them next year! I'm taking a break now from messing with it all. I sure was happy to have the tree down though!

I was just saying the same thing about my tree. My Mom and Dad's Birthday are both this week and for some reason we always left the tree up for their Birthdays. You know, to prolong the wonderful Holiday (I actually meant that and did not say it sarcastically!). But now in my own house I like to take it down on the weekend after New Years...this year New Years was too close to a weekend and I just didn't get it done. So, my excuse is I'm waiting for my parents Birthday. That totally works, right? I will be on a cleaning spree along with putting the tree away. How can you not?

Oh hells bells.. just leave it till ground hog day. (oh and I adore the fact that you wrap according to person)

Besides putting up a tree takes your heart and soul.. taking one down just seems like work.

I'll zip you an email my dear

with love,

I hear you- mine is up, too! I've never been this late in taking it down! LOL

Ha! Rebecca already commented, but we leave our trees up until our parents' birthdays. BUT if you follow the Advent calendar, the 12 days of Christmas is actually the 12 days following Christmas. So you are still good;)

Take care!

Hi,
The fake tree is down. I leave up 2 silver smaller trees and put red glitter hearts on them for "V" day!

I am not sure what to do with the MOD fabric. I am thinking of using it to cover a bulletin board. I have seen tons of people post the How To Steps.......I'll shoot you a picture if I am successful. Washing the fabric is on my to do list today along with staying warm here in South Georgia!

Missy, You may still have a tree still up, but I still have three! I took down the other four, but am still dragging my heels on the others. I am cleaning each room once I get its tree down. whew- it is such work. And I have fake garland sheddings all over the floor, no matter how many times I vacuum. LOL It sticks to the walls and the vacuum attachments, so I keep transferring it from room to room. I thought I'd be done by now, but it isn't going to happen for a few more days.
And if I keep having to go out to shovel and use the snow blower, it may be even longer..... tee hee

I'm trying to get organized -- At least I'm getting it all back in the same place instead of some in the shed, some in the attic and some in the spare bedroom. Thanks for your visit to my table last week -- you are always a welcome guest.
